Having been in industrial sales for most of my life, I have stayed in countless hotels. I am what many refer to as a "road warrior".
I possess over half a million combined Hilton and Marriott points and usually redeem points for free hotel stays earned on business for my family trips. This time the chains were all sold-out and I was left on my own to find a place to stay in Cincinnati for a 3 night trip.
Upon check-in I was greeted by a genuinely friendly staff and checked into a "house" not a hotel room. 2 bedrooms, living room and kitchen were more than I expected or required, but, to be honest I thoroughly enjoyed having all the extra space to spread out. The lobby was small and Spartan but the view from my balcony and the free hi-speed was very nice. This place has the best cable selection I have ever encountered. The room was clean as a pin, however, I did notice a dizzying variety of aromas (due to the neighbors using their kitchens) of popcorn, pizza and on the last night some sort ethnic food - possibly curry?
Overall, this was a hugely surprising experience and I would recommend
this place as a great alternative to the cookie-cutter hotel chain experience.
I wish there was one of these in Atlanta!

Stayed at the Garfield over Memorial weekend.
This was our third stay and, again, we were very pleased. We had a two
bedroom suite which was quite spacious with a nice view of the park
and street. Very quiet. Only a couple of blocks to Fountain Square and
about a 20 minute walk to Great American Ballpark. Parking is right
around the corner and costs $1 per day on the weekends. The restaurant/bar
off the lobby was reasonable and the food(breakfast) was very good.
All in all, this is a very nice place to stay and is an excellant value.

The entire staff at the hotel treats you as if you were their only guest, and make you feel they are so pleased that you are staying with them. No request is taken lightly, and the manners for all employees is beyond reproach.
I spent 3 weeks there, and it was that way every day.

We had a great experience staying at this hotel. Just a small glitch in checking in, check-in counter representative was rude and very unhelpful. Evening and morning staff were great, very friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were large and comfortable. A quiet hotel, very relaxing. Very affordable!! Great location. A huge plus was the hotels parking garage, only $1 a day. Would definitely recommend it!

Just got home from a trip including a night at the Garfield. What a terrific place! The rooms are literally entire apartments including full kitchen. The location was handy and the area felt safe. The parking garage was very reasonable ($1. per day on the weekend). In particular the front desk people were very friendly and helpful. They gave great directions. This hotel is an amazing bargain. If I were to return to Cincinnati I would most definitely return to this hotel.

Would I recommend this hotel to my best friend? absolutely!
I did my research and booked this hotel for an overnight stay (February
11, 2007) as my boyfriend and I were coming to Cincinnati for an AFI
show. I read the wonderful reviews on here and got an excellent rate
($99 for a one-bedroom suite) from the hotel's website. It was VERY
easy to find from I-75 and the location was excellent - we were upgraded
to a two-bedroom suite right on the corner of the building with an excellent
view of Cincinnati. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful
and gave us a map with excellent directions to the show venue. The room
had a full kitchen, two televisions (one in the living room and one
in one of the bedrooms) with more cable than you could ask for, a DVD
player and free internet. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer
- could have gone shopping at Macy's down the street!
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

"The best place we've ever stayed!"

We were in the area last November attending a dance convention across the river in Erlanger, KY and stayed at The Garfield Suites Hotel in downtown Cincinnati, OH. My husband and I were very impressed from the moment we arrived. We were greeted immediately and helped with our luggage. Once we arrived at our room, I couldn't believe the how clean it was! We travel a lot to dance conventions and I usually stay in the room as little as possible, but the Garfield Suites felt like home! I was totally relaxed the entire time we stayed there and felt like royality! We called about the internet hook-up and immediately the house engineer, David, showed up to to help us out with it. The housekeeping supervisor, Joyce, checked with us to make sure everything was satisfactory with the room. She gave us some information about places to shop and eat during our stay also. We tried the hotel restaurant which she recommended as well as three other places she told us about that were within walking distance of the hotel. All were fantastic! The housekeeping staff that serviced our room, Vernise and Dee, were wonderful also. They were both very courteous and thorough. Again, I can't comment enough about how clean the suite was as this really impressed me - Hats Off To The Housekeeping Staff! Also, once Mick in Sales learned that we were staying there because of a dance convention, he offered to show us the ballrooms the hotel had. While we were only guests of the club putting on the dance, the ballrooms were so gorgeous that I took his business card and passed it on to the club president of the dance club. I told him that if they ever needed a great place to dance to check it out because he would not be disappointed! My husband and I look forward to returning to Garfield Suites again and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Cincinnati area.

We spent 11 nights [from 13th Jan to the 23rd Jan,2007] at the Garfield Suites. We were making our 1st visit to Cincinnati for our 35th wedding anniversary. We booked direct on their webpage. Coming over from the the UK I do not drive stateside so this location appealed to me. As it was downtown I knew that the public transportation would be good. First of all about the Garfield Suites, it was an excellent location for us, the staff were 1st class, nothing was a problem for them. We were able to travel to all the major malls by Metro Bus for $3.00 return each. As you are travelling by bus the journey time to most of the big malls was 45 minutes plus, yes we could have got there quicker bt taxie for $30.00.All bus stops were close to the hotel.The public library was across the street and they would let you use a pc for 90 minutes "free" every day to check your emails and bank balance.The Garfield supplied free transport to one of the local supermarkets every tuesday night to stock up on your shopping. Lots of places to eat within 10 to 15 minute walk . Thanks to Trip advisor we found this place. We look forward to a return visit to the Garfield Suites.

Found the Garfirld hotel while searching for a hotel in Cincinnatti on TripAdvisor. Read previous reviews and looked like good value for the money. Got the 2 bedroom suite (previously Condo apartment?) which was perfect for the travelling family. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean. Beds were comfortable. Had a Starbucks coffee from the hotel restaurant. No problems. Got the parking on Saturday for $1.00 special. Total $69.00 for 2 bedroom suite + $1.00 for parking . Feeling of getting value for money...."priceless!" Will definitely stay there again.

My family stayed at the Garfield on June 8th
for 1 night to attend a Reds baseball game. The hotel was great! Requested
a 2 bedroom lower level non-smoking room and received that exact
room.
Requests are requests but it's great when you get it. Room was very
clean with a lot of space. We had a balcony over looking the city
library. We arrived at the hotel on a Thursday around 2:30pm and able
to check
in right away. We used the valet parking service and didn't use
our car until we were ready to check out. The funny thing about downtown
Cincinnati is that the local restaurants shut down from 2pm - 5pm
and
open back up at 5pm or 530pm for dinner, so a late lunch was out
of the question we found that to be a little weird. Used a taxi service
to take us to the Great American Ball Park, we asked the front desk
to call us a cab, it was there in 10 minutes max.
Had a message on our room phone from the front desk clerk asking
if the room was to our liking and to give them a call if there were
any
problems. I'm very impressed with the service, the rooms and all
around facility. Complaints other than the restuarants in the area
being shut
down I don't have any. Would totally recommend this hotel to my
clients. I'm a travel agent and always looking for great Suite hotels.
I think
it's the only way to travel when it comes to room accomodations.

Two of my good friends traveled with me to Cincinnati
for a three night stay at Garfield Suites Hotel. I made reservations
a few weeks earlier and had emailed the hotel several times with questions,
which were promptly and courteously answered. A few days before we left
for our trip, I received a call that we were being upgraded to a larger
suite due to a reservation being cancelled. We were extremely pleased
with our accommodations. The suite was large, attractive, comfortable,
and had amazing views of Cincinnati. Without exception, the staff was
friendly and took care of any concerns quickly with a pleasant attitude.
The manager, front desk personnel, valet, and maintenace people seek
to please their guests. We recommend Garfield Suites to anyone planning
a trip to Cincinnati.

Our stay was for Memorial Day weekend and we had booked and paid about two months in advance. Upon arrival we were placed in a "board room" with a large conference room and a small bedroom. We were very displeased, but because the hotel was sold out we could not be moved. Upon arriving home I complained by e-mail and was contacted by the manager, Mick, who was very accomodating and offered us two nights free in their penthouse suite for our next visit. This is the most outstanding customer service I have ever received from any hotel or resort and I can't say enough good things about their efforts to make things right for us. Needless to say we will always stay here for future visits and highly recommend this hotel and the manager to everyone. The hotel is downtown and only a short walk to the baseball park and has a small restaurant and bar off the lobby.

I had to be in Cincinnati on business and it was recommended by a peer because of it's location in downtown near our home office.
The room was very spacious, with a balcony and a great view of downtown. My room has a 35" TV (in the living room) and a 20" in the bedroom! It even has a small 5" TV in the bathroom. Being a news junkie, TV's are important and the cable selection was good.
The suite is clean, quiet and the hi-speed was fast and FREE. I enjoyed having the large dining table to spread out my evening's work.
I also enjoyed the gym which is huge and had full nautilus.
I understand that this used to be an apartment building and it is obvious since I've never stayed in a hotel that has A WALKIN CLOSET!
Kudos to the staff - they were very accommodating and friendly, and
the breakfast buffet was plentiful and hot. Again, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
